THE POWER OF OUR LOVE

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,…" Matthew 25:35

Three years ago, life as Olga knew it changed forever. Her home went up in flames, and with no time to think, she grabbed her son Alex, who has cerebral palsy, her mother, and her younger son Natan before leaving behind everything that they once called home.

After a grueling seven-hour taxi ride, Olga arrived at our doors, clutching Alex and sobbing uncontrollably. We embraced the family who were in shock after losing everything. What Olga didn’t know was this wasn’t going to be just temporary housing and aid, this would be the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.

Within hours, the family was living in our emergency housing, giving them a safe space to begin healing. Natan entered our Kalaniot Children’s Home, where he began receiving therapeutic services while staying close to his family. This allowed Alex to get the 24 hour care and attention he needed.

Fast forward three years, and the transformation is absolutely astounding. Today, Olga, once broken and desperate, now walks through our doors with strength and purpose—as a social worker in our community. Using her pain and experience, she helps others facing similar hardships. Natan is just thriving in our Kalaniot Day Program with his new friends, and Alex continues to receive the loving care he needs for his health and happiness.

With your sacred gifts of love we can continue to bless the suffering, while we assist in God’s plan for a future filled with Love, Hope & Peace.
