“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you." John 14:18

God guides us on paths and places us in situations that are designed to change our lives. For me, it was the day that I walked into an orphanage in Siberia to adopt my 2 daughters ages 8 and 10. Upon entering the facility, about 20 young children rushed towards me and grabbed onto my arms and legs. They looked up at me with eyes full of hope, and cried out… Papa!… Are you my new Papa?
As I looked into their little faces and sad eyes, I didn’t know how to answer… how do you tell a child who lost everything, no… I am so sorry, but I can’t be your papa. As my eyes filled with tears, I realized at that moment, that I was only focussed on the beautiful story that I had created in my mind about adopting my daughters. I was not even aware of the other 150 children who’s only dream was to have a family that would love and care for them.

That was a truly defining moment in my life that led to the creation of our life-saving Kalaniot Children’s Home—a home where every child is provided with advanced rehabilitative services and, most importantly, the tender loving care and a sense of belonging that every child deserves in their young lives.
Today we are facing a crisis across Ukraine, where countless children, many who are Jewish, are tragically losing their homes and loved ones. Together, with your prayers and sacred gift of love, we can rush to their side, wrap them in our loving arms, and then bring them to safety in our Kalaniot Children’s Home.
Let’s join hands together in saving these precious children so that we can tuck them into their own beds at Kalaniot, where they will feel cherished, cared about and loved.
May God bless you abundantly for putting your Faith Into Action.
