A SHARED JOURNEY

The eagerness with which Jesus ate the Passover meal with His disciples reminds us of His eagerness to commune with us today. His invitation remains open – to one, to all – inviting us to dine with Him, partake of His sacrifice, and in turn, share His gift of salvation with others.

This year, Passover commences on Easter Sunday, two celebrations intersecting as a shared journey of urgency and expectation. In Exodus 12:11, God said to Moses and Aaron, These are your instructions for eating this meal: Be fully dressed, wear your sandals, and carry your walking stick in your hand. Eat the meal with urgency, for this is the Lords Passover.”

The urgency continues in Matthew 28:5-7, when the angel said, I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isnt here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. And now, go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee.”

My friends, on this shared journey where faith intersects action, our feet are fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Together, let us continue to bless and save our suffering Jewish brothers and sisters, while we walk and work in the footsteps of our Lord.
