MASHA
The constant fighting in Ukraine, shattered Masha’s world. As overwhelming stress and constant fear consumed her daily life, her hypertension deteriorated rapidly, causing her vision to decline at an alarming pace.
One night, the air raid sirens sounded. Masha rushed towards a shelter but stumbled in the darkness and fell hard. She broke her leg and was now stranded on the cold street. Her physical pain was overwhelming, but the crushing loneliness she felt was even worse.
The next morning, neighbours found Masha crying, broken and all alone and brought her to our Senior Care Home. “Everything changed the moment I entered this wonderful home” says Masha. “I was in so much pain, but I could feel the love of those who were rushing to help me.”
Surrounded by our loving caretakers and embraced by her new family, Masha had the surgery she needed to repair her shattered bones. Her physical healing has been remarkable, but her emotional restoration is just extraordinary. For the first time in years, our Masha is beginning to feel safe, cherished, and hopeful about her future.
