In 2018, we rescued Sasha and her brothers, Dima and Jenya, who were living in immediate life-threatening conditions. They were not attending school, wondering the streets at all hours and were severely malnourished.
Welcome into their journey of hope and transformation—witnessing how these precious children are rising up through our continued tender loving care and then coming home to Israel, healthy and whole.
When the children entered our Kalaniot Children’s Home seven years ago, they were all suffering from severe trauma, neglect and developmental delays. Little Dima had never learned to read and was facing numerous challenges with his memory and speech.
Our highly trained therapeutic team immediately created a tailored treatment plan for each child. The first step in their rehabilitation was to help them experience what it feels like to be safe, supported, and loved. From there, they all participated in daily therapy, social rehabilitation, and were enrolled in our schooling program.
Thanks to our around-the-clock comprehensive care, the children’s progress and growth were nothing short of miraculous. Dima began to excell in his studies, not only catching up on his reading skills, but surpassing his grade level! We witnessed the same remarkable progress with both Sasha and Jenya.
Fast forward 5 years and Sasha was accepted into the Na’ale Program and moved to Israel to attend high school. Dima and Jenya stayed in Kalaniot to continue with their rehabilitation. And now today, like a proud papa, I am overjoyed to share with you that Dima has also just moved to Israel to join his sister in the Na’aleh Program. What a blessing! God willing, it won’t be long before we see Jenya join his loved ones in the Land that God has promised them.
My family, this is how we put our faith into action together. When we rescued these 3 children, we planted a seed of hope in their hearts. We nurtured that seed with continued rehabilitative services and our tender loving care. And now, we are witnessing the beautiful growth and transformation that would have once seemed impossible.
